The project objective of Dichotomy was to explore the intricate relationship between urban environments and natural landscapes. The site features a prominent boulder, which serves as a pivotal source of inspiration for both the materiality and the overall building form. The design concept utilizes sculptural concrete forms that mimic the organic morphology of the boulder, creating an impression of it further jutting across the site.
By fracturing the building into distinct volumes, this creates a functional separation between educational and residential spaces. This division fosters a more intimate and private residential environment for students, while still maintaining convenient access to the adjacent learning facilities. The result is a harmonized integration of living and learning areas that prioritizes both seclusion and connectivity within the educational landscape.
